Nigerian-American rapper Wale has opened up about the role he played in the career of Afrobeats star Wizkid.
Speaking during a livestream with Carter Efe, Wale revealed that he helped introduce Wizkid to an international audience at a critical stage of his career.

The rapper said he and Wizkid have shared a close relationship for nearly a decade.
He recalled taking the singer to his first BET Awards show, describing the moment as a major milestone.
Wale also disclosed that he once hosted Wizkid in Beverly Hills, California, for an entire summer.
According to him, the period was dedicated to making music, during which they recorded several songs together, including “Drop For Me.”
He added that he has always followed Nigerian music closely and enjoys listening to many Nigerian artistes, even if he does not know all of them personally.
