Canadian rapper Drake has lost $200,000 after placing a high-stakes bet on YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul to defeat British heavyweight Anthony Joshua.

The bout, which took place in Miami on Friday night, ended in disappointment for Paul, who suffered the second defeat of his professional boxing career after Joshua knocked him out in the sixth round.
Ahead of the fight, Drake had confidently shared his wager on Instagram, revealing the large sum he staked and urging Paul on with the caption, “Jakeyyyyy boy. Lock tf in.”
The rapper stood to win a reported £1.2 million ($1.64 million) had Paul emerged victorious.
The loss adds to Drake’s well-known poor record in sports betting.
The artiste, whose real name is Aubrey Drake Graham, previously lost $355,000 (£281,440) after betting on boxing legend Mike Tyson, 59, to defeat Jake Paul in a fight last November.
