Former United States President Barack Obama has unveiled his much-anticipated annual list of favourite books, films and music for 2025, with Nigerian Afrobeats stars making a notable appearance.

Songs by Burna Boy and Olamide were selected among his top music picks of the year.

Obama highlighted Burna Boy’s Tatata featuring Travis Scott and Olamide’s 99 featuring Daecolm, Seyi Vibez, Asake and Young Jonn as part of his favourite tracks for 2025.

British-Nigerian singer Obongjayar also earned a spot on the list with Not In Surrender.

The playlist equally features global music heavyweights such as Kendrick Lamar, SZA, Lady Gaga, Gunna and Drake.
