Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has revealed that he would like fellow artiste Asake to perform at his wedding.
Wizkid made this known during a recent appearance on Apple Music radio, where he featured alongside Asake and longtime collaborator DJ Tunez.
The Starboy boss disclosed that Asake’s breakout hit Omo Ope first made him a fan, while Remember remains his favourite song from the singer’s catalogue.
According to Wizkid, Remember is the song he would love Asake to perform on his wedding day, describing it as an “amazing record.”
He went on to praise Asake as one of the most talented vocalists not only in Africa but globally.
Wizkid further described the Lonely At The Top crooner as a blessing to African music, reiterating his admiration for Asake’s unique voice and artistry.
“Omo Ope made me an Asake fan from the first listen. But my favourite Asake song is ‘Remember’.
“I think you have to play that one on my wedding day. It is an amazing record,” Wizkid said.
“You are amazing, you have one of the most special voices from home [Africa] and in the world. You are a blessing to African music.”
Wizkid, who has teased plans of his wedding for several years, is currently in a romantic relationship with his manager and third baby mama, Japa P.
The couple share three children two boys and a girl.
