Popular influencer and doctoral student Enioluwa Adeoluwa has launched the inaugural Readers’ Choice Award, an initiative dedicated to spotlighting outstanding Nigerian fiction and non-fiction published between 2020 and 2025.

The award, introduced under his growing literary community @enisbookclub, aims to champion books written by Nigerian authors living in the country, with a focus on titles that are easily accessible to local readers.
As part of the selection criteria, nominated authors must be available to attend an in-person event, reinforcing the award’s commitment to a locally grounded celebration of literature.
Readers can nominate one or two books through a designated Google Form, contributing directly to the development of the award’s shortlist.
The initiative has been described as a grassroots effort to honor remarkable storytelling in a period marked by an increasingly vibrant Nigerian literary scene.
With this launch, Adeoluwa continues to shape conversations around reading culture, creating space for emerging and established voices across the country.
