Cristiano Ronaldo and his fiancée, Georgina Rodriguez, are reportedly planning to marry in a Christian ceremony on the football star’s home island of Madeira next summer.
According to Jornal da Madeira, the couple will wed at the historic Funchal Cathedral, with a lavish reception expected to follow at a luxury hotel on the island.
The pair announced their engagement in August after more than nine years together.
Ronaldo recently shared details of his spontaneous proposal, which included a £1.5 million ring.
“It was like 1am. My daughters were sleeping,” he told Piers Morgan.”
“One of my friends gave me the ring, and as I was about to give it to Gio, my two kids came in saying, ‘Daddy, you’re going to give the ring to mum and ask her to marry you.’
I said, ‘Wow, this is the right moment.’”
Ronaldo admitted he hadn’t planned the proposal and didn’t get down on one knee but said the moment was heartfelt.
“It was simple. I’m not very romantic, but I’m romantic in my way.”
“It was beautiful, and I knew she is the woman of my life.”
Ronaldo is a father of five. He shares two daughters Alana Martina and Bella Esmeralda with Georgina.
His eldest son, Cristiano Jr., was born in 2010, while twins Eva and Mateo arrived via surrogacy in 2017.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez, who reportedly began their relationship in 2016 during Ronaldo’s time at Real Madrid, are now preparing for what is expected to be one of the most talked-about celebrity weddings of 2026.
