Afrobeats star Stanley Omah Didia, widely known as Omah Lay, has stirred national debate after declaring that prayers alone cannot rescue Nigeria from its current insecurity and economic crisis.
In a post shared on his X handle on Thursday, the singer stressed that meaningful change will only come when Nigerians take deliberate and proactive steps.

Reacting to growing calls from Christian and Islamic clerics urging Nigerians to pray for the nation, Omah Lay wrote:
“No Jesus, no Allah, no prayer is saving us. Nothing changes until we wake TF up.”
His comment comes amid heightened tension following the terrorist attack on a church in Kwara State
Also, the kidnap of schoolgirls in Kebbi State, incidents that have intensified public outcry over Nigeria’s worsening insecurity.
Omah Lay’s position aligns with the sentiments of several Nigerian celebrities including Don Jazzy, Davido, Falz, and Mr Macaroni

Similarly, singer Yemi Alade on Wednesday objected to suggestions of foreign military intervention, insisting that “African problems need African solutions, not new problems.”
