Rapper Olamide has responded to the controversy trailing his recent comment in which he ranked Wizkid as the greatest Afrobeats artiste after the late Fela Kuti.
The debate erupted after Olamide made the remark during a press briefing in Toronto, Canada.

Reacting to the backlash, the rapper acknowledged that fans will always hold differing views.
He noted that the music industry is vast enough for every artiste to excel without comparison or hostility.
He wrote:
“Honestly, this whole long back-and-forth is unnecessary. You cannot downplay anyone’s greatness — whether they are A-list, B-list, or whatever category people create. Support whoever you choose; there is enough space in the sky for everyone.”
Referencing his earlier comment — “Wizkid is the greatest Afrobeats artiste after Fela” — Olamide maintained that the issue should not divide music lovers.
He further noted that leading stars such as Burna Boy, Davido, and Wizkid are not concerned with differing opinions, as they remain focused on their craft.
“Remember, Burna, David, and Wiz are not the type to be offended by someone else’s opinion or perspective. That mindset is part of what has taken them this far,” he added.
