Nigerian actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, has been released from prison after spending more than three years in custody over allegations of sexual assault.

He regained his freedom on Friday, November 14, 2025, following a ruling by the Appeal Court that cleared him of the charges.
Actor Yomi Fabiyi announced the development in an Instagram post on Friday evening, celebrating the court’s decision.
“You are now officially FREE AND OUT. Baba Ijesha is not just back but BETTER,” Fabiyi wrote.
He added that the Appeal Court cleared the actor of allegations involving a minor, describing the earlier claims as “a charade.”
Baba Ijesha was previously sentenced to 16 years in prison by the Lagos State High Court on July 14, 2022, for allegedly sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl.
