Nigerian singer and songwriter, Simisola Kosoko, popularly known as Simi, has expressed deep pride in her Nigerian identity.
The “Joromi” crooner said her favourite thing about Nigeria is the unique spirit of its people a quality she believes cannot be replicated by foreigners.

Speaking on a recent episode of the 90s Baby Show, Simi noted that even in Hollywood, actors rarely attempt to imitate Nigerian accents, opting instead for East or South African tones.
She said, “My favourite thing about Nigeria is just the spirit of Nigerians. You can’t replicate it.
Nobody else can be a Nigerian other than a Nigerian. Even when they are faking African accents in Hollywood movies, they never actually fake a Nigerian accent.”
However, Simi expressed sadness over the country’s current state, saying that if Nigeria were better managed, many citizens would not feel the need to migrate abroad.
She added, “That is why I wish the country was better. Because I feel like no one would want to leave.”
