There was a time when rapper Zlatan Ibile, known for his electrifying energy and street vibes, couldn’t go a day without lighting up.
The smoke was part of the routine part of the image, even. But four years ago, everything changed.

During a recent chat with fans on Snapchat, the Zanku crooner revealed something many didn’t expect.
When a fan asked if he still smoked, Zlatan smiled through his response:
“A day can’t pass without someone asking me this question. Yes, I quit smoking 4 years ago. And I have no issues with smokers.”
It was a simple statement, but one that carried years of discipline, growth, and personal evolution.
Zlatan’s confession joins a growing list of Nigerian music stars who have chosen a cleaner path Don Jazzy, Peruzzi, Tekno, and Kizz Daniel have all openly shared their decisions to quit or cut down.
Even Davido once hinted at giving it up after being inspired by Don Jazzy’s transformation.
For Zlatan, this wasn’t just about health it was about growth, clarity, and purpose.
The man who once made the streets dance with “Zanku” has found a new rhythm one that breathes peace instead of smoke.
