Nigerian rapper, Oladips, has accused the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of extorting ₦10 million from him before his release, nearly a year after his arrest.

The artiste, who was apprehended during a midnight raid on his estate in November 2024, disclosed that he spent five days in EFCC custody despite no incriminating evidence being found against him.
Speaking on the Trending podcast, Oladips recounted his ordeal, describing the detention facility as “a smelling place” where detainees were “packed like sardines” and given “nonsense food.”
He revealed that fellow artiste Zlatan Ibile sent him meals during his detention, adding that the gesture came from genuine concern.
“It’s not even like Zlatan is a friend; that’s my blood. He was sending someone to buy good food for me because the food there is bad.”
“They didn’t find anything on me, and they still collected ₦10 million before they released me,” Oladips said.
When asked if he planned to take legal action against the anti-graft agency, the rapper expressed helplessness, saying, “Who is my father? It’s just me and my truth. I don’t know how the system works.”
“They collected money from me before releasing me even though they found nothing. Nigeria just happened to me.”
