Nigerian singer and songwriter Korede Bello has shared an emotional reflection on how poverty affects education, creativity, and the human capacity to dream beyond daily survival.
In a deeply thought-provoking video shared via Instagram, the “Godwin” crooner explained that poverty is one of the biggest threats to curiosity

It is the very force that drives learning, discovery, and innovation.
“Think about this,” Korede began. “Would Elon Musk be so concerned about space travel if his rent was due or he didn’t know where his next meal was coming from?”
He argued that millions of talented people across the world never reach their full potential because they’re trapped in a constant struggle for survival.
“Many people who could change the world don’t get the chance to explore their creativity. Hunger kills curiosity,” he said.
According to the singer, if African youths had consistent access to basic needs such as food, education, and stable resources, the continent would experience a transformative wave of innovation and growth.
“If money wasn’t an issue, what would you learn? What would you think about? Following your curiosity is a privilege that comes when survival isn’t your biggest concern,” Korede added.
He also reflected on how the world’s most successful people often learn beyond classrooms, driven by passion, curiosity, and self-education.
