The rapper, whose real name is Emeka Akumefule, disclosed that he reconnected with his father in January 2025.

This is a moment that also allowed him to meet his German step-siblings for the first time.

Speaking on the latest episode of The Perspective Podcast, Blaqbonez shared that he now enjoys a close and consistent relationship with his father

My relationship with my dad is getting stronger and stronger. We are talking more than ever before. It is better than it has ever been,” he said.

When asked about what prompted his father to reconnect, the rapper clarified that the move was genuine and not influenced by his growing fame or success in the music industry.

“It wasn’t because of my celebrity status. My dad doesn’t even live in Nigeria, so he’s not really exposed to all that. I just think he truly wanted to reconnect,” he explained.

The rapper, known for his witty lyrics and confident persona, expressed gratitude for the progress they’ve made, adding that healing old wounds has brought him peace and maturity.

Sometimes, life just gives you a second chance to rebuild things you thought were gone forever. I’m glad I took that chance,” he added.
