When Sarah, a European philanthropist, heard about the UAE 10 years humanitarian visa, she became intrigued.
Now, the UAE offers ten-year renewable residency to donors who actively support humanitarian work or Waqf.

For example, Waqf provides charitable endowments that fund healthcare, education, and other public welfare projects.
To qualify, applicants must donate at least AED 2 million (around £450,000) to approved projects.
Moreover, the scheme recognises “financial supporters of humanitarian work” alongside investors, doctors, and entrepreneurs.
How Donors Apply and Qualify
This initiative arose from a partnership between GDRFA-Dubai and Awqaf Dubai, which manages sustainable endowments.
According to director general of GDRFA-Dubai, Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, the programme “empowers endowers to play a vital role in community development.”

Following this, Sarah donated to an approved Awqaf project and secured her nomination for the visa.
Then, she submitted her application via GDRFA Smart Services, including proof of donation and her degree.
Next, the joint GDRFA-Awqaf committee reviewed her case and granted her ten-year residency.
UAE Humanitarian Visa Benefits
With this visa, residents can live, work, and study anywhere in the UAE while sponsoring family members.
Importantly, holders can renew residency without a sponsor, even if they spend over six months abroad.
Additionally, secretary-general of Awqaf Dubai, Ali Mohammed Al Mutawa explained that the initiative strengthens endowment work as a sustainable development pillar.
Finally, the UAE aims to attract global philanthropists, channel charitable funds, and promote generosity worldwide.
