When Bella Shmurda sat down for his recent chat with Naija FM Lagos, his tone carried more than just his usual street-smart confidence it carried concern.
The “Cash App” hitmaker painted a vivid picture of the harsh reality behind the beats.
“To release an album now, you need a huge budget,” he sighed. “It’s not like before. Promoting ten or more songs, shooting five or six videos it’s a lot.”
He explained that in today’s music scene, the dream of dropping a full album feels heavier than ever.
With video production costs starting at ₦20 million, many artists are forced to think twice before hitting the release button.
“Imagine spending ₦20 million on just one video,” Bella Shmurda continued. “Now multiply that by five. How many artistes can really afford that?”
