Fintech startup Gigbanc has unveiled the Global Talent Fellowship, a 12-week programme aimed at helping African freelancers and digital creators build global careers and earn at least $3,000 monthly.

The initiative targets young professionals in design, coding, and content creation, offering mentorship, real client projects, and access to international networks.

Announcing the fellowship on October 20, 2025, Gigbanc’s CEO, Paul Omoregie, said the goal is to bridge the gap between Africa’s talent pool and global opportunities.

“Africa is full of extraordinary talent, but what has been missing is the bridge. The Gigbanc Global Talent Fellowship is that bridge,” he said.

Applications are open via www.gigbanc.co until November 15, 2025, with only 20 participants to be selected based on creativity, skill, and potential community impact.

To further connect freelancers and creators, Gigbanc will also host Gigconnect 2025, a free one-day networking and learning event on October 25 at Zone Tech’s Ruby Hall, Lagos.

The event will feature panel discussions, masterclasses, speed networking, and entertainment sessions designed to help creatives and tech talents scale their businesses.

Highlights include discussions on mastering global-ready skills, navigating cross-border payments, and securing dollar-denominated gigs, plus the Gig Hustle Challenge, a 60-second pitch competition offering cash prizes and mentorship.

Gigbanc’s Head of Marketing, Habeeb Ajijola, explained that both the fellowship and event reflect the company’s vision to empower African youth through access to global opportunities.

Founded in 2022, Gigbanc has already processed millions of dollars in payouts for African freelancers via its cross-border payment solutions and virtual dollar cards.
