The KAP Film & Television Academy has celebrated a major milestone with the graduation of 165 emerging filmmakers from its Filmmaking Residency Programme.
This held in collaboration with the Oyo State Government.
The graduation ceremony took place on Wednesday at the scenic KAP Film Village & Resort in Igbojaye, Oyo State.

It marks the completion of a 10-day intensive training that drew participants from all 33 local government areas of the state.
Supported by SONY and Kontakt Pro Nigeria, the residency provided practical, hands-on training across key areas of filmmaking.
This includes screenwriting, directing, cinematography, producing, editing, and sound design.
A major highlight of the event was the screening of eight short films produced by the participants.

Representing Governor Seyi Makinde, the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Wasiu Olatunbosun, praised the initiative as a milestone in both economic empowerment and cultural development for Oyo State.
He lauded Kunle Afolayan and his team for creating a thriving creative ecosystem that not only nurtures talent but also boosts tourism and film production in the state.
“This programme represents Oyo’s cultural pride and creative excellence. I commend the students for their passion and dedication,” Olatunbosun said.
