Afrobeats megastar Davido has honoured his late mother, Dr. Veronica Adeleke, with the commissioning of a female hostel at Clifford University, Abia State.
Named Veronica Imade Adeleke Female Hostel, the facility was unveiled during the university’s 6th Convocation Ceremony.

Also, Davido delivered a heartfelt commencement speech to graduating students.
In his address, Davido urged the graduates to pursue purpose over fame or wealth.
He reminded them that “true greatness lies in the number of lives one impacts.”
“When I looked into their faces, I saw the same fire that built me — that hunger to be seen, to make something out of nothing, to turn pain into power. Talent might open doors, but purpose gives them meaning,” he shared.
The hostel stands as a tribute to his late mother, an educationist and philanthropist who dedicated her life to empowering others through learning and compassion.
“My mother, Dr. Veronica Adeleke, believed education and kindness could change lives. This building is a continuation of her purpose — turning love into legacy,” Davido stated.
Joining him at the ceremony was his close friend, Cubana Chief Priest, who announced that he would be sponsoring the school fees of 50 students.
