Nicki Minaj has shocked fans once again this time by announcing she’s scrapping her highly anticipated sixth studio album, and she’s pointing fingers at Jay-Z and Roc Nation.
On Wednesday, October 15, 2025, the rapper took to X (formerly Twitter) to claim that Roc Nation had “begged” her to release a new album and go on tour.
“They came BEGGING the QUEEN for a tour & album & I said NOPE!!!!!” Minaj wrote, directly tagging Jay-Z.”
“Wanted to patch it up. They needed help from the QUEEN & the BARBZ.”
Moments after the fiery post, Nicki stunned her fans affectionately known as the Barbz by declaring that she was calling off her next project altogether.
“Ok I’m not going to put out the album anymore. No more music. Hope you’re happy now sc Bye, Barbz. Love you for life,” she wrote.
The announcement quickly set social media ablaze, with fans flooding her mentions. Some urged the rapper to take a break from social media, while others begged her not to cancel the album.
Nicki Minaj first revealed plans for the now-canceled project back in September, teasing a potential release date of March 27, 2026.
That original announcement post remains pinned on her X account.
Her most recent album, Pink Friday 2 (2023), debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, making her the first female rapper in history to earn three chart-topping albums a milestone that further solidified her reign in hip-hop.
