Taraba State is about to change its future after ECOWAS Bank pledged $268.63 million to boost key sectors.

The Ministry of Energy and Economic Development secured the funds to launch four major, transformative projects across the state.

Agriculture And Industry Take Centre Stage

The first project is a 10,000-hectare rice farm with modern irrigation, designed to increase food production significantly.

Next, the state will construct a 16-tonne capacity rice mill to process rice efficiently and add local value.

A new industrial park with agro-processing and logistics clusters will also attract businesses and strengthen Taraba’s economy.

ECOWAS Contribute To Renewable Energy And Community Growth

Finally, a 50-megawatt solar power plant will expand renewable energy supply and support industrial and residential growth.

Commissioner Naomi Tanko Agbu described the announcement as the start of a new era for Taraba State.

“Careful planning, collaboration, and the governor’s vision brought us this landmark funding,” she said with pride.

Governor Agbu Kefas has prioritised infrastructure, security, and industrial growth to drive Taraba’s overall development.

These projects will create jobs immediately while building a foundation for long-term economic and social growth.

Tanko praised the teamwork behind the investment, highlighting the contributions of ministry officials, consultants, and development partners.

She urged residents to stay engaged and support the projects, saying, “Together, we can build Taraba under Governor Kefas.”

Ultimately, these initiatives will position Taraba as a hub for agriculture and renewable energy across Nigeria and West Africa.

By implementing the projects, the state aims to stimulate local economies and take bold steps toward sustainable prosperity.
