Thousands of music fans packed Central Park’s Great Lawn on Saturday night for the much-anticipated return of the Global Citizen Festival.
The 13th annual edition of the star-studded event brought together music icons, activists, and policymakers for a cause-driven night that blended entertainment with global action.

One of the standout highlights came when Afrobeat sensations Ayra Starr and Rema took the stage together in New York.
Ayra Starr delivered a stunning cover of Selena Gomez’s version of “Calm Down”.
Also, she shares the stage with Rema as the pair mesmerised the crowd.
Their chemistry was undeniable as they danced, performed, and celebrated African music on a global platform.
The night was filled with more unforgettable performances.
Also, the festival featured powerful sets from headliners like Cardi B and Shakira, with Hollywood star Hugh Jackman serving as host.
For many, seeing Mariah the Scientist live was another special moment of the evening.
What makes the Global Citizen Festival unique is its mission.
While the tickets are free, attendance requires commitment: fans must earn their way in by supporting Global Citizen’s campaigns to fight extreme poverty, defend the planet from climate change, and demand equal access to nutritious food.
The event drew people from all over the world.
Attendees like Mateus Ferrer from Brazil and Mia Abdallah from Lebanon travelled long distances to be part of the movement.
Many volunteers started young, such as 13-year-old Samara Osae-Asare from the Bronx, who explained: “You have to earn points by doing humanitarian work.”
With its mix of music, activism, and star power, the Global Citizen Festival once again proved to be more than just a concert—it was a rallying call for change.
