She explained in her post-show interview that the fallout stemmed from her closeness with Kayinkunmi, a housemate she already knew before the competition.

According to her, Isabella misunderstood her bond with Kayinkunmi, assuming it was romantic, and began to view her as a threat.

It’s unfortunate that Isabella and I never really became friends. I genuinely looked forward to connecting with her because she is a mother to a 14-year-old son. I wanted to learn from her perspective. But things changed because Kayinkunmi, who is my friend outside the house, was also in the game,” Thelma said.

She noted that the tension heightened after she picked Kayinkunmi as her deputy during her time as Head of House.

Also, she added that Isabella’s reaction that night confirmed the strain in their relationship.

Her reaction showed me she had taken it too far. I felt it wasn’t the right time for a conversation,” she explained.

Thelma further clarified that she intentionally kept the depth of her friendship with Kayinkunmi private to avoid unnecessary speculation.

Kayinkunmi is my friend, and that was why I chose him as deputy. I didn’t want anyone using us for highlights, so I only explained to those who asked me directly. Unfortunately, by the time Isabella realised there was nothing between us, the damage was already done,” she added.

The reality star concluded that although she had hoped for a genuine connection with Isabella, the misunderstanding created a rift that was never repaired during their time in the house.
