Nollywood actress, Bimbo Akintola, has opened up about her views on marriage, proposals, and societal expectations.
She stresses that not being married is not a negative.

In a recent interview, the 52-year-old screen star revealed that she has been proposed to multiple times but turned them down because she is yet to find the right partner.
“For me not to have found my partner, the person I want to spend the rest of my life with, I don’t see it as a negative. I’ve been proposed to many times, and I’ve said no,” Akintola explained.
She further highlighted the pressure on women to marry, urging them not to rush into unions for the wrong reasons.
“Did you just marry because people say marry? Look at divorce ratings now in Nigeria, it’s skyrocketing. Some people are married before they leave the reception if the marriage has broken up,” she warned.
The veteran actress also called for equal upbringing for sons and daughters.
Also, she insisted that boys should be held to the same moral standards as girls.
“Teach your sons that their body is the temple of God the same way you teach your daughters. As soon as you impregnate a girl, no more school for you, my dear. Go and work and raise your child,” she said.
On the issue of online bullying and women’s expectations in relationships, Bimbo Akintola advised young ladies to stop chasing only wealthy men and instead focus on partners who are hardworking, responsible, and willing to grow with them.
Her candid views have sparked conversations online.
