Seven-Day Repair Work Kicks Off On Lagos’ Ozumba Mbadiwe Road

Lagos has launched a week-long repair of Ozumba Mbadiwe Road, one of the city’s busiest corridors.

The project runs nightly from 9pm to 6am, starting on Monday, September 15 and ending on Sunday, September 21, 2025.

Full Stretch Under Repair

Moving from Bony Camp junction to Sandfill junction, the Ministry of Transportation outlined the full scope of the repair, covering the entire stretch until it connects to the Lekki–Epe Expressway.

Meanwhile, Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, explained that the government scheduled the work at night to reduce pressure on daytime traffic.

He also urged motorists to stay patient and cautious as they navigate the corridor during this period.

Gateway And Business Hub

Furthermore, Ozumba Mbadiwe serves as the main gateway from Lagos Island to Lekki Phase 1, Ajah, Lakowe, Ibeju-Lekki and Epe.

Beyond its role as a transit route, the road anchors a thriving corporate hub.

It houses high-rise landmarks such as The Wings, The Waves, Civic Towers, 1004 Estate, and Black Diamond Hotel, while new developments continue to rise along its length.

Ultimately, with these repairs, the government aims to preserve the vital road that keeps Lagos moving and supports the city’s expanding commercial landscape.
