Doctors under the Association of Resident Doctors, Federal Capital Territory Administration (ARD-FCTA) have commenced an indefinite strike.
This is after the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, allegedly failed to respond to their long-standing demands.

The industrial action began on Monday, September 15, 2025.
It was declared following a congress held on Sunday.
Speaking at a press briefing in Abuja, ARD-FCTA President, Dr. George Ebong, clarified that the decision was not a personal attack on the minister but a response to the deteriorating state of the healthcare system in the FCT.
“The government has ignored both our financial and non-financial demands. Despite months of dialogue, nothing has been done. Congress has therefore resolved to embark on indefinite strike until our concerns are addressed,” Ebong said.
Among the doctors’ grievances are non-payment of 26 members despite over seven months of negotiation and unemployment crisis, leading to poor service delivery in hospitals.
Also, unexplained salary deductions and delayed promotions since 2023.
Dilapidated hospital facilities, with some centres lacking basic equipment such as X-ray machines.
Ebong urged the minister to take swift action, warning that the strike will persist until tangible solutions are provided.
