Conservative activist Charlie Kirk was shot on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, while speaking at Utah Valley University.
The Turning Point USA founder was struck in the neck during his “American Comeback Tour” event and rushed to hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
The campus was placed on lockdown as police and federal agents launched a manhunt.
An older man was briefly detained, but officials say the shooter may still be at large.
Political figures from both parties condemned the attack. Donald Trump urged prayers for Kirk, while Democrats, including Gavin Newsom and Hakeem Jeffries, denounced the shooting as “reprehensible” and warned against political violence.
