President Bola Tinubu has acted to restore continuity at the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) by recalling two senior executives to their posts after recent changes unsettled the organisation’s leadership.

Dembos And Adewuyi Reinstated
On Tuesday, Presidential Spokesperson Bayo Onanuga issued a statement in Abuja, announcing that the President directed Salihu Dembos to return as Director-General of the NTA.
Tinubu had first appointed Dembos in October 2023, and now he wants him to continue and complete his three-year tenure.
In addition, Tinubu reinstated Ayo Adewuyi as Executive Director of News.

He had appointed Adewuyi in 2024, and the executive will now serve out his tenure until 2027.
Earlier Appointments Cancelled
By taking this step, the President cancelled the earlier appointments of a new Director-General, an Executive Director of News, an Executive Director of Marketing, and the Managing Director of NTA Enterprises.
Only days earlier, the government had unveiled Rotimi Pedro as the new DG in a statement signed by Segun Imohiosen from the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
However, Tinubu has now set that announcement aside, signalling his determination to keep stability at the nation’s public broadcaster.
