Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson is on the verge of joining Bayern Munich on loan, with the German champions securing an option to make the deal permanent.

The Blues will receive an initial loan fee of £13m (€15m), while Bayern Munich hold a purchase option worth £56.2m (€65m) for the Senegal international. A sell-on clause has also been inserted into the agreement.

Player Agreement

Jackson, 24, has already agreed a pre-contract with Bayern and has been granted permission to travel to Germany to finalise the move.

Chelsea Struggles

The forward, who arrived at Stamford Bridge from Villarreal in 2023, has found opportunities limited following the arrivals of Joao Pedro and Liam Delap this summer.

He last featured for Chelsea as a substitute in their Club World Cup semi-final win over Fluminense in July.

Jackson has netted 24 goals in 65 Premier League appearances but has underperformed his expected goals tally by seven over the past two seasons the second-worst record in the league.

He has also struggled in front of goal when presented with clear-cut chances, converting just 29% (18 of 61) of what Opta classify as ‘big chances.’

The Senegalese striker was an unused substitute in Chelsea’s Club World Cup final victory over Paris Saint-Germain and has not featured in their opening league games a goalless draw against Crystal Palace and a 5-1 win at West Ham.
