According to the NNPCL boss, his only “offence” is spearheading reforms in the oil and gas sector as directed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, particularly efforts to revive Nigeria’s long-abandoned refineries.
Bayo Ojulari alleged that certain individuals, whose interests are threatened by the reforms, have resorted to plotting his removal
Also, mounting pressure against the company’s management.
“My life and that of some management staff are under serious threat,” he revealed.
“Some people are not comfortable with the direction we are taking to reposition NNPCL. But we remain committed to the mandate given to us by Mr President.”
Also, he emphasised that ongoing plans are in motion to bring the moribund refineries back to full capacity.
He noted that the company is studying the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) operational model as a possible blueprint.
Ojulari assured stakeholders that despite the dangers, he remains committed to ensuring the refineries function effectively and that stability returns to the oil sector.
