Rapper Cardi B is facing fresh legal trouble as a female security guard has accused her of assault and battery during an alleged altercation at a Los Angeles doctor’s office in 2018.

Testifying in court on Monday, August 25, 2025, the guard, Emani Ellis, claimed the Grammy-winning artiste who was four months pregnant at the time spat on her, used racial slurs, body-shamed her, and left her with a facial cut from her fingernail.
According to Ellis, the incident began after she approached Cardi with her phone while working at the obstetrician’s office. She alleged the rapper became irate, believing her privacy was being compromised.
“After she heard me say her name, she turned back around and the first thing out of her mouth was, ‘Why the f–k you telling people that you see me?,’” Ellis testified, adding that her attempt to calm Cardi only fueled further aggression.
Ellis further alleged that Cardi threatened to have her fired, belittled her job, and tried to strike her but missed.
She claimed she later required plastic surgery to treat the injury caused by the rapper’s nails.
The lawsuit seeks damages for assault and battery. Cardi B’s legal team has not yet responded to the allegations.
