Becoming a parent is one of the most life-changing experiences a person can ever have. For many, the moment they hold their newborn for the first time is filled with joy, tears, and gratitude. It is a memory that lasts a lifetime.
But sometimes, unexpected challenges can stop parents from being physically present, even when their hearts are full of love and longing.
This is the reality Tanzanian singer Juma Jux is currently facing after the birth of his son.
On Sunday, 24 August 2025, Priscilla Ojo and Juma Jux welcomed their first child together, a baby boy named Prince Rakeem Ayomide Mkambala, in Canada.
The joyful news was announced by Priscilla’s mother, Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo, who expressed gratitude for the safe delivery of both mother and child.
While the Ojo family celebrated the new arrival, fans quickly noticed that Jux was not physically present in Canada for the birth.

In a phone interview, Jux opened up about his situation. He shared that the delay was not due to choice, but because of a visa issue.
“This is a joy I have never experienced before. My baby’s name is Prince Rakeem Mkambala and I thank God for safe delivery. The baby and his mum are healthy.”
It’s visa issue that has made me not to be there with them. I already applied but you know Canadian visa takes time. I hope anytime from now, it will be issued and I will join them.”
The singer explained that because the baby is still very young, travelling back to Tanzania soon would not be possible for Priscilla and the newborn. This makes it necessary for him to go to Canada instead.
“The baby is still young and they will not be able to travel anytime soon so I have to go see them.”
“I can’t wait to see my baby, he was born strong and with a big body.”
Though Jux has not been able to hold his son yet, his words showed the excitement and eagerness of a father longing to meet his child.
For now, the singer continues to wait, praying for quick processing so he can be by his wife’s side and carry his son for the first time.
