Joseph Aloba, father of the late singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has reignited discussions around the controversies that trailed his son’s career and untimely death.
In a recent interview with Sunday Scoop, Aloba alleged that Mohbad endured bullying during his lifetime, disputing recent statements by former Marlian Music boss, Naira Marley, who denied mistreating the singer.

Marley had earlier claimed in an interview that he only tried to guide Mohbad after discovering the singer was allegedly experimenting with illicit substances.
However, Mohbad’s father recalled his visit to Marley in an attempt to address his son’s complaints, saying the experience left him convinced his son had been subjected to mistreatment.
According to him, one of Marley’s associates even confided that the label boss physically assaulted Mohbad.
“When we went to see him to apologise, he wasn’t even speaking respectfully. People assume I went there to collect money, but life is beyond just what I want to eat,” Aloba said.
On the issue of financial transactions carried out with accounts not linked to Mohbad, Aloba admitted that Marley had raised concerns over the matter.
He said he also noticed that money sent to him sometimes came from unfamiliar accounts.
“I warned him that anything he wanted to give me should come from his own account,” he stated, clarifying that was the extent of his knowledge.
