The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Kano struck a major blow against drug traffickers when its operatives seized cannabis worth over ten million naira.

Surveillance Leads To Seizure
On August 6, officers from the Kiru Area Command carried out weeks of surveillance and then intercepted a vehicle along the Zaria–Kano Road.
Inside, they discovered 19 parcels of Cannabis Sativa, weighing 9 kilogrammes, which a trafficker was transporting from Lagos to Kano.
Crackdown Intensifies
Speaking after the operation, NDLEA spokesman Sadiq Muhammad-Maigatari explained that the arrest and seizure dismantled a key supply line and denied traffickers millions in illicit profits.

“This interception disrupts the chain of distribution and reduces the resources available for further criminal activities,” he said.
Moreover, the agency emphasised that the operation not only blocked illicit revenue but also shielded communities from the destructive social and economic effects of drug abuse.
Meanwhile, under the leadership of Abubakar Idris-Ahmad, Kano’s Strategic Command pledged to intensify intelligence-led patrols and widen its crackdown on traffickers determined to push narcotics into the state.
