Super Falcons defender Tosin Demehin has signed a contract extension with Galatasaray Women following an outstanding debut season that confirmed her status as one of Nigeria’s rising defensive talents.

The 23-year-old centre-back joined the Turkish side in the summer of 2024 from French club Stade de Reims and quickly became a key player.
She featured in 26 matches across all competitions, scoring once and playing a pivotal role in Galatasaray’s fourth-place finish in the Turkish Women’s Super League as well as their first-ever appearance in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
International Breakthrough
Demehin’s strong club performances mirrored her success with the Super Falcons. She played every match at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, helping Nigeria clinch a record 10th title.
She also scored her first international goal in Nigeria’s 5-0 quarter-final victory over Zambia.
“It was a dream tournament for me; playing every game, scoring for my country, and lifting the trophy with my teammates,” Demehin said after the win.
Nigerian Presence at Galatasaray
Her extension strengthens Nigeria’s footprint at Galatasaray, where she joins Victor Osimhen, the star forward of the men’s team, as the only Nigerians representing the Istanbul club.
With the 2025/26 season approaching, Galatasaray will be banking on Demehin’s composure, aerial strength, and tactical awareness as they push for greater success in both domestic and European competitions.
