The probe into the 2025 Hajj operations took a dramatic turn on Wednesday as the EFCC grilled eight senior officials of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
Additionally, the questioning centred on alleged diversion of funds and mismanagement that have cast a shadow over the Commission’s handling of pilgrims’ welfare and logistics.

The spotlight now falls directly on NAHCON Chairman Abdullahi Usman, whom investigators suspect of overseeing diversion of funds and abuse of office.

However, sources revealed that two of the officials walked out only after they returned ₦38 million each to the anti-graft agency, although EFCC has not officially confirmed this recovery.
