Arsenal are on the verge of completing one of the biggest transfers of the summer with the signing of Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace in a deal worth over £60 million, beating rivals Tottenham Hotspur to his signature.

Spurs had been frontrunners for the 27-year-old attacking midfielder, but Arsenal accelerated negotiations following concerns over a knee injury to Kai Havertz.
Eze, who was once released by the Gunners as a teenager, now appears set for a remarkable return to the Emirates.
Reports indicate that Arsenal have reached an agreement in principle with Palace for a fee close to Eze’s £68 million release clause the same amount Tottenham were prepared to pay.
Havertz sustained a knock during Arsenal’s win over Manchester United on Sunday and missed training on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, prompting the Gunners to fast-track their move.
Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has insisted that both Eze and captain Marc Guehi remain committed to the club as they gear up for their Conference League play-off clash with Fredrikstad.
“They are committed to the team, they have a contract here, and they have been crucial to our success,” Glasner said. “Until the day they leave, they will continue to give 100 percent for Crystal Palace.”
Eze, whose contract runs until 2027, has impressed with standout performances that caught the eye of several top clubs. Arsenal, however, now look set to win the race for his signature.
