Jadon Sancho has rejected a move to Roma with uncertainty over the Manchester United outcast’s future now set to drag on late into the window.
The winger had been stalling on a decision over the transfer despite Roma reaching an agreement with the Red Devils on a loan deal with an option to buy worth around £20 million (€25m/$29m).
According to various reports, Sancho has turned down Roma’s offer after a deal was struck between the Italian club and United over a loan with an option to buy.
The 25-year-old has also made it clear he will not be joining Besiktas, removing another potential destination from the table.
This leaves both suitors and also the Red Devils frustrated as they seek to finalise a late summer exit for the outcast.
Sancho remains under contract with United until next summer and his wages continue to pose a stumbling block for interested clubs, limiting his options in the market.
The England winger’s reluctance to move suggests he is holding out for a project that better matches his ambitions.
