Veteran Nollywood actor, Clem Ohameze, has strongly refuted recent rumors circulating on social media about his health and family, describing them as fabricated lies aimed at tarnishing his reputation.
The controversy began after a Facebook user identified as Okwulora alleged that the actor had suffered a stroke and was abandoned by his sons, leaving only his daughter to care for him.
In a tearful video shared online, Clem Ohameze dismissed the claims, stressing that he does not have three sons and never granted any interview suggesting such a situation.
The actor revealed that he has already initiated legal proceedings against the Facebook user, labeling the act as cybercrime.
“I called my friend who is a director in the DSS and I have initiated a police case. This is cybercrime. If you want cheap popularity, go get it somewhere else.
“I will not allow some idiot to tarnish my image just to attract traffic to his page,” he said.
Ohameze expressed deep frustration over the repeated spread of false news regarding his health, recalling previous false reports that he had died.
He noted that such rumors have caused unnecessary emotional distress for his family.
“The other time, it was that I was dead, now it is that I had a stroke. But who did I grant the interview to? Do I have three sons? What nonsense is this?” the actor lamented.
He further disclosed that only his daughter became aware of the recent rumor and was deeply affected by it, questioning why individuals would engage in such damaging acts.
