Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez has voiced serious concerns over the increasing use of streaming farms in the country’s music industry.
She calls the damage done by such practices “irreversible.”

The outspoken artiste made his remarks while reacting to a post by fellow artist Magixx, who recently slammed artistes inflating their streaming numbers using bots and automation.
Magixx had tweeted: “Y’all faking your numbers. I hope you sleep well at night… keep deceiving your family members.”
Quoting Magixx’s post, Blaqbonez doubled down on the criticism and highlighted the long-term implications of the fraudulent practice,.
He warns that it’s only a matter of time before the industry faces the consequences.
“The irreversible damage we’ve done to our industry — one day it’ll finally come crumbling down. For now, let’s keep acting like the charts mean anything more than a showcase of who can afford to buy them,” Blaqbonez wrote.
“It’s like iTunes in the 2000s all over again.”
Streaming farms is the act of using bots or paid click services to artificially inflate song streams, have become an open secret in the Nigerian music scene.
This lead to misleading chart positions and perceived popularity that doesn’t always match real fan engagement.
Blaqbonez’s comments show a growing frustration among some artistes who believe that streaming manipulation is eroding the credibility of music charts.
Also, it makes it increasingly difficult for genuinely talented acts to break through without engaging in unethical practices.
