President Bola Tinubu has conferred the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) on the Super Falcons in recognition of their historic victory at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, where they secured Nigeria’s 10th title.

Speaking during a reception held in their honour at the Presidential Villa on Monday, July 28, President Tinubu praised the team’s commitment and resilience.
He announced a reward package which includes the naira equivalent of $100,000 for each of the 24 players and $50,000 each for the 11-man technical team.
The President also revealed that each member of the squad and coaching crew would receive a three-bedroom apartment as part of the national appreciation.
“I have received this trophy on behalf of all Nigerians. Thank you for your dedication, passion, and for reminding us of the strength of the Nigerian spirit,” Tinubu said.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum and Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, announced a separate donation of ₦10 million each to the 24 players and the technical crew, on behalf of the forum.
