The former Manchester United and Juventus star had been handed a four-year suspension after testing positive for DHEA, a banned substance that increases testosterone levels.

However, the Court of Arbitration for Sport later reduced the ban to 18 months after concluding that the substance, while on WADA’s prohibited list, only has a performance-enhancing effect in women. Pogba’s ban officially ended earlier this year.

According to Le Parisien, the 31-year-old has agreed to join Monaco and reportedly made “significant financial sacrifices” to finalise the deal.

Discussions between Pogba and the club had been ongoing for several days, with the financial agreement reached on Sunday., June 22, 2025.

Pogba is said to have visited the principality earlier in June to meet with club officials and prepare for the move, including arrangements for accommodation, security, and a personal driver.

The move will see Paul Pogba return to top-flight competition, with Monaco set to compete in next season’s UEFA Champions League after finishing third in Ligue 1 behind Marseille and champions Paris Saint-Germain.
