2 dead, 3 injured as truck runs into Danfo bus along Oshodi expressway

No fewer than two persons have been reported dead, while three other sustained serious injuries as truck rammed into a commercial bus at Ilasamaja area of Oshodi/Apapa Expressway.

The incident occurred around 5.18pm when a truck with number plate truck SGM 715 XA laden with a 20ft container rammed into the stationed commercial bus which was discharging some of its passengers at Ilasa under bridge unfortunately, the impact of the crash recorded two casualties who were passengers of the ill-fated bus.

Three others including the bus driver were said to have sustained varying degrees of injuries and were moved to Isolo General Hospital.

The casualties were a male and female adults just as three other passengers in the bus were said to have escaped unhurt during the accident.

Confirming the incident, the Director-General Lagos State Emergency Management Agency LASEMA, Dr. Oluwafemi Oke-Osanyintolu said the agency’s Super Metro and forklift were on ground to recover the fallen truck while the State Environmental Health Monitoring SEHMU, was on ground to deposit the bodies at the morgue.

The aftermath of the accident was said to have affected the free flow of traffic in the axis but this was monitored by Lagos State Traffic Management Authority LASTMA, and The Nigeria.
